This page is for our canine friends:

Although NANNA has no facilities for dogs we have managed to re-home 16 during 2007 and 18 during 2008, not bad considering we only started direct re-homing in August 07 and in 2009 we have helped over forty dogs to find new homes. In the first 7 weeks in 2010 we have helped 7 dogs to find new homes and a further 6 on our books, not bad really!

At NANNA we try to keep the dog in their home until their new home is found, this reduces the stress to all concerned; the dog is happier in a home environment and the owner usually is happier to know that their dog is not caged.

If you need a dog rehomed then this works better if you can send me a photo and we will post the photo on to the page and fingers crossed we will find a home for your dog.

NANNA will then come out and assess your dog and sign the dog up for this page, we will sort out photo's and arrange for our vet to do whatever needs to be done before rehoming.  This all costs money so we will be asking for a donation towards the cost of all this.

If you would like to rehome a dog on this page then please bear in mind that on average it costs NANNA over £180 per dog to come through our doors.

All our dogs are: neutered, vaccinated, worm and flea treated and micro-chipped. They come with 4 weeks insurance, discount vouchers and full support from our specialist dog team.

We arrange a home visit before placing the dog and we only rehome certain breeds to experienced homes. We do not rehome dogs to homes where they are going to be left all day or where there are young children, so if you are interested in rehoming one of our dogs then please ring us to find out more.

Our policies are in place to protect the dog AND you, so please try to understand.

We have ear marked for 2012 another six new kennels, but four will be to replace the ones we already have, we just don't have enough volunteers to help look after anymore dogs.

  Bonnie the Collie

Bonnie is looking for a busy but special home, she needs to keep busy and has come on leaps and bounds since being with NANNA's. She is good around other dogs and not too bad around other animals.

Although Bonnie has "Fly catching syndrome" she has shown good signs and her recall has improved tenfold. With more training and time this dog will make a fantastic dog for a family or retired person who love to walk or run.

Would you like to take long walks with a collie who needs love and attention, in return you will have love and attention? Oh and she wouldn't say no to a nice place in front of the fire.

01933 650372 is the number to call or 07921215049 and we will organise for you to meet this beautiful young lady.

Forrest needs a home to call home

Forrest is a beautiful girl who loves children but sadly she did not get out to walk or play in the garden so she needs to be retrained. Now she is with NANNA, we can see how much her family meant to her.
Forrest is being rehomed and it is not her fault at all, her family have been told she just has to go, so please help us to find Forrest the forever home she needs. Please don't allow this very sweet dog to sit waiting any longer for her place in front of a fire, she has been with us far too long already.

It is so sad to see her sad, she is without her family and she is on the older side of life (9) and should not be in kennels. She just needs to be loved and allowed to love. For more information on Forrest please ring us on 07719880998 or 01933 650372.

Forrest cannot go with other dogs, cats or any other animal!

Splodge playing in the agility area at NANNA

Splodge showing how she loves to please

Meet Splodge a young staffy, who has had puppies at a very young age, when she should have been allowed to play!

Spoldge is willing to please, but she is full of life and bounce and will jump up and play so firm control will be needed around her. We have neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped Splodge and she is ready to go to her new home as soon as the right family is picked by her.

We would prefer Spolodge not to go with you young children because of her bounce (the name Tigger would suit her ability), so if you have the space and time in your life for a fun, bouncing, loving Staffy then why not offer Splodge a place in front of your fire this winter?

If you would like to see Splodge then pop down to the shelter or ring 01933 650372 or 07921215049.

Comet and Bonsai

Two older gentleman needing a forever home together

Two very naughty little boys, older does not mean better behaved! They argue with each other, have their own quirky ways and sometimes it is funny another time annoying, but they are lovable.

In the right home where they will each get attention they will settle and go on being naughty. Bonsai got hurt and we had to separate them and Bonsai stopped eating and Comet refused to play, popped them back together and they were both back to normal (naughty) within ten minutes, so we cannot and will not separate them again.

Have you got a couple of laps and a nice cosy fire for these guys to curl up in? They cannot go with any other animals, they walk as a team and that's not good for the other animals!

01933 650372 or 07921215049 are the numbers to call or just come down to see them.

Roxie is approx 16 months old Boxer x Staffy

A lovely dog but powerful dog too, needs to go to an adult home only with no other animals. Roxie is only 14 month old and was handed to us as a stray, so we have no history of her.

She loves to jump and play and has shown no signs of aggression. She will be easily trained because she is eager to please and loves nothing better than to run about chasing a ball. She MAY be alright around some other dogs, if they are ok with her.

01933 650 372 or 0791215049 are the numbers to call if you feel this is the young dog for you.

Fun, fun, fun is the name of the game for this you lady. Neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped, she is ready to share you home and fire place on the cold nights to come.

Bubbles is safe and up for rehoming

What Bow (Bubbles)owner had to say: "I have attached a picture of Bow taken a couple of days ago. Bow is extreemly active and can play ball all day. She gets on well with other dogs outside and loves to play but can get scared if they chase her too much.

She is very loving and  loves to cuddle up on the sofa and watch telly but sleeps in her own bed. She has completed 12 weeks of puppy training and knows all the basic commands but choses not to respond to them.
She is extreemly jealous of her current surroundings and is not getting on with my current two dogs she is aggressive towards them and likes to bite them and barks constantly when any attention is given to them or they are playing with toys. She should definatly be the only pet in the home also not suitable to live with Any children under the age of 14 as she like to bully them and does scare them easily. She is VERY Food Orentated and will get aggressive and bite if handled while around food,
She does steal food from worktops and out of children's and adults hands and will even climb to reach food.
She is very agile and very quick and she can Jump she can clear a 4 ft fence with 1 jump and a stair gate is no match for her.
She chases everything mainly Cars as they drive past unless controlled she will launch herself at them and there is a real risk of her getting run over. She chases Bikes and joggers and everything that moves pretty much.
She still play bites but will stop if told to. She is a very loveable puppy and with the right home with people who have one to one time to give her will settle in very well, but we just don't have the ability to give her one to one attention.
Also she does still chew quite badly and does like to wee everywhere too!"
What happened next.
The owner then went on to sell her on Preloved and Gumtree, she was then taken into a "collie rescue" in Luton. From there she was given to three young girls and they took her to London, their parents said no to keeping her so she then went to another home and the gent phoned NANNA's and we arranged to go and bring (Bow) Bubbles home and she has been with us since December 2011.

NANNA's observations:
Bow's name was Bubbles when at NANNA's and she lived up to her name and was a very bubbly character, she loves to run and jump, sometimes nipping, but never with aggression. She lived in a kennel with another dog and was extremely happy, but sadly we could not rehome them together! She was rehomed into a young family with two other dogs and was submissive towards one and tried to dominate the other.

Since living at NANNA she is happy with other dogs and loves to play, she can jump, but she has not gone on our worktops or tables, but her favourite place to sleep is on my office desk!

She has not destroyed anything, bitten nobody, although she does jump, but when pushed down she soon learns she is getting no attention from this behaviour. Bubbles is VERY intelligent and needs an experienced home, other dogs will be a bonus, she loves to be part of the pack. A large family will have the same results, but we would prefer older children, because she is full of love, bounce and pushing the limits!

01933 650372 is the number to call or 07921215049 if you would like to give a bundle of fun and bounce a home.
