Manuel aka Ronaldo.
The little might is doing well. I went up to see him today 13th Aug 08, and he has grown and looks so good.

We have raised enough money to secure his future and he has been given lots of goodies from Royal Canin and I will up date the page as soon as I can.
We have two huge fund-raising events to go to. NANNA needs £3000 per month to survive and that means all our volunteers are out there every weekend shaking a tin or more.
Please bear with us with this page I promise to keep you all up to date with how he is doing.
NANNA would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has help this beautiful little kitten.
NANNA rescued him but he in return has rescued NANNA.
MANUEL
The story begins on an afternoon in early August when the phone rings and a plea on the other end to help a little kitten.
On asking questions it seems that no-one in other charities want to go to the rescue of this little kitten who's eye were only just open and was in a terrible state.
I could not go straight over as I cannot always drive, because I am disabled, so I had to wait for the long suffering husband to arrive home to drive me through to Corby.
On our way over Michael was asking about where the kitten had come from, was it born in the container, where was it's mum and I had no answers to give.
On arriving at the security gate, I was given a tiny box with an even tinier kitten inside it. It was wailing for food and he felt like cardboard to touch. He had nothing in his tummy, his ears were still down and his eyes were just open making him approx 10 days old.
I used an empty biro to try and trickle food into him but he struggled to suckle so I went to leave to get him home to sort out proper milk and feeding equipment for him, when I remembered Michael's questions. So I turned back and said was there any sign of a mum or other kittens? The answer was NO.
I then asked where did the container come from, at this point my knees went weak after I heard the reply - Portugal!
Stright away I knew we needed to contact DEFRA and we should not take the kitten into our home because of our rabie laws.
On returning home, Michael, called DEFRA to be told it was ok to bring the little chap into the home and we need not worry about it!
Michael questioned that answer and had it confirmed and again was told everything was ok.
I rang our vet and spoke to him and he was shocked at the response but strongly advised we took precautions to keep the kitten away from the other animals in our care. So up to the bedroom we go with the little chap with lots of warm milk and of course cuddles. I cannot resist the cuddles and kisses!
About an hour later the phone rang and DEFRA was on there asking where was the kitten? In my bedroom! Ok, someone will be ringing soon to speak to me about it.
A little later another lady from DEFRA rang to say that the kitten was ok in my bedroom but trading standards would be ringing me in the morning because he may need to go into quarantine.
Next day the phones don't stop, Manuel was going to be taken from us and placed into quarantine and unless we found the £1600 for his quarantine bill we would lose the right to say what would happen to him!!!
With this I contacted the local papers and spoke to Catherine and asked if there was anything we could do. On speaking to the editor they got a photographer around waiting for Trading Standards and DEFRA plus the quarantine kennel to arrive to take the little mite.
From the local paper it went National and was on Sky news .com as well as local TV, Manuel was famous, we had emails from all over the country and phone calls from all over too.
Only two calls were against Manuel but the rest were fantastic, supporting us and him all the way. MATALAN decided to foot the bill but people still rang and continued to send money.
We may have save his life between us but he and you have saved NANNA animal charity from closure because with all the extra donations we have been able to pay some bill and get our heads back above water.
For this we send love and best wishes and Manuel-Ronaldo sends you all leg-rubs and affectionate head-butts with oodles of purrs xXx
On Thursday the 4th September I am going to see him and I will update the page soon with photo's and comments!
He is gorgeous and so naughty, I cannot believe how big he has grown - oh ok here is a picture of him at as at the 4th September

Manuel-Ronaldo Corby
We took all the kisses and hugs you have sent to him and enjoyed giving him everyone, Manuel was a little wet afterwards and a little bemused by all the attention.
We took some of his toys and the rest will go with us next week, if you would like to comment about Manuel-Ronaldo Corby, then please email us and we can put it on the website.
Thank you all for your continued support the little chap is really worth it.
10th December
Manuel-Ronaldo is getting ready to spend Christmas in his little pen and we are going to take him lots of presents which have been sent to us for him and the other animals in our care.
I will be taking the camera too so watch this space!
Manuel is home and safe at NANNA's at long last.
He is getting neutered and will be going up for rehoming soon.
Here is the last photo of him
He will now go up for rehoming to live a normal life with a family who wants a totally pampered, mischievious, little scamp!
Manuel-Ronaldo and NANNA would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped his plight come to a happy ending.
This thanks has to extend to Northampton Trading Standards, Catherine and Alsion at the Evening Telegraph and the wonderful people who bottled fed him in quarantine, also the man who rang NANNA's asking for help with a little orphaned kitten. Without these people
you, the general public, would not have know about this little mites ordeal and given so freely to help.
NANNA will never forget - Manuel, has forgotten but that's cats for you >:< xxx
