A little dog neeeeeeds your help!

Meet G-G

G-G aka Good Girl or Grumpy Girl, (whichever mood she is in), came into NANNA when her owner went into care!
She does not appear to have been socialised and she is very frighten around people and other animals - she is afraid of her own shadow - sudden movements and men!
When G-G arrived she shook soooooo much that she kept falling over - her owners parting remark, as he put her in a pen in the back of our car, was "I don't know what you will do with her at the other end!" All the way home the metal cage rattled from her shakes and she layed with her ears back wondering what was going on.
G=G was so bad that we took to our bedroom - she would not have coped in a kennel and she shook so much all night that in the morning her pen had travelled across the bedroom floor - even with a big heavy blanket draped over it to make her feel more secure!
We soon realised that her fear and shaking was not her only problem, she also could not walk! As she start to goose step, she fell over. We put it down to shaking, but soon realised that she had something seriously wrong with her back or legs, so off to the vets we go and he was shocked to see the condition of the dog, The shaking was the worst he had ever seen and he soon realise that as she tried to walk, her knee caps were popping out of the sockets - both legs also her hips were not right either.
As you can see from the photo she has not been overly fed, but that not the only thing! She does not seem to know what a food dish or water bowl is - she would only eat if you throw her food from your plate - and she would only drink from your cup! I cried to see her in such a terrible state.
Good news is she is eating dog food from a dish, water from a bowl and her shaking stops when there is just me and her - until today when Nic came to do some TTouch on her and amazingly she has relaxed so much that she has not overly stirred when people have come in and out of the room today and her shaking stopped completely for a time too. Amazing to see how TTouch really does help an animal settle and relax.
Where this little dogs need your help is in the cost for the operation on her legs, we are looking at going "well into 4 figures" which is what we have found out today.
Is she worth it? Before today I would have seriously wondered if it was the best thing for such a scared, psychologically damaged little dog to go through the operation without any chance of finding peace in your own mind and body - but after seeing Nic work with her and the way she has bonded and the trust she has in me - then yes, she is worth it and when the right home is found for her, I do strongly believe that this little lady will soon learn how to chase a ball and have fun in her life.
Please, if you can help her, whether with a £1 or a £1000 she really does deserve the chance to understand that life is not being shut up all day sharing your owners left overs - it is about playing and being loved and having her own toys, food and dishes to eat and drink from and there is no reason to hide and shake under blankets or paper or to hide behind furniture until the threat has gone away!
01933 650372 is the number to ring if you would like to help this little girl.
THANK YOU
Up date
Gg goes to Newmarket to see a specialist on the 12th November watch this space.
We are back from Newmarket and we need to raise £2000 to help this dog. Gg needs and MRI scan to confirm exactly what is going on in side her head. Her shakes are mainly fear but she has problems with co-ordination of both front and back legs.
It could be hereditary or something going on in the brain or stem cell area so we need to raise this money in the next two weeks so we can have a full diagnosis.
If all goes well we can then look at getting her knees sorted. On asking the vet what was her future going to hold - she was very optimistic, because Gg is not in pain and she has a determination about her, she also said that she has a wonderful personality!
£2000 is an awful lot of money but if we each give £5 or £10 we should get the money in time, by the way Gg is sitting on my lap as I type and she has just given out a huge sigh, please help her.
Donations recieved so far £475!
Gg has responded fantastically to the love and attention she has recieved at NANNA's and we have tried every which way to raise the money necessary for the MRI scan, however to date we have not managed to raise it and due to the fact that, although still shakey on her legs, Gg has come a long long way. She has found her voice and confidence and she even tries to play with a ball and tries to bite you when she is playing! No damage is done due to the fact that she cannot keep hold of your hand because her head shakes to much.
Gg is a very happy, shakey, little madam, who loves life now she is here with us, she will stay with NANNA for the rest of her life, enjoying the company and love of everyone who meets her. The money raised so far has just cover the cost of her treatment so far and because she can now stand and walk much better than before we have decided to leave her to live her life with no more fear of what people are going to do to her next.
Found under a garden shed!

The kitten will lose the eye on Monday if it survives the weekend!
Nothing can be done until Monday 30th June, just love and attention, good food and clean bedding, pain relief and antibiotics. The little mite needs a lot of treatment and a special home to love it and prayers to get it through this.
NANNA will find the money to pay for what ever this kitten and the sibblings, who are all in a bad way, but if you would like to help please donate using the button or send a cheque to NANNA 145 Addington Road Irthlingborough Northants NN9 5UP. Please watch this space and we will keep you updated.
Updates
Monday 30th June, we had three more little kittens in over the weekend from the same garden, all in really poor condition, two sadly did not make it through the night.
The little mite in the photo below has had the eye removed and seems to have done well, but it is fingers crossed and prayers through the night. All we can do is try and hope the little one pulls through, three more of the kittens are showing signs of the same infection so we are treating the eyes and again praying for a miracle. If all four kitten do lose their infected eye it is going to cost in the region of £200 per kitten.
We have received £98 in donations so far from four people and we send our and the kittens thanks xXx
Friday 4th June, All four kittens are doing well and they are growing and eating us out of house and home, we feel it would be nice to give them names, this is always hard when we know they may not make it but it is harder to lose a little one with no name, so we have named them!
The little tortie with huge cattitude is called Little Sweatheart (always the optimist), the long-haired black with the poorly eye is called Pest because he is into everything! The little one who had his eye removed is called Jolly because although at such a tender young age he has gone through so much he has been very jolly and playful and the tiny, tiny little black and white one is called Titan and hopefully he will grow into his name.
Tuesday 15th June, some very sad news the little kitten who had the eye removed has given up and gone on to chase the butterflies in the sky. We are all absolutely gutted here at NANNA and although we are still battling with the other three little ones we are really missing little Jolly. Just two
RIP Little Soul!

We have a special needs bank account and this money is used to give these little ones a good life and a chance in life.
Some places would have put them to sleep!
But if they are not suffering and just want to live a little before they chase the butterflies in the sky, then surely they should be given this opportunity?
Their bank account has only £132 in it, please if you can help!
DO!
NANNA's thank you and they thank you xXx
Just thought you may like to see Titan, Little Sweetheart and Pest as at the 6th October 2008!

Awaiting their new home together!

Some of the poorly kittens living at NANNA's

Humbug cuddling Lala who had a twisted rib cage.
Lala did not make it to a ripe old age because of her rib cage but she did have a lot of fun at NANNA's until the time came for her to chase the butterflies in the sky! As you can see she was also loved so very much by all the others!

Humbug needs an operation on both her knees as they keep slipping out of the joint casing. She cannot have the operation yet as her bones are still growing. We need help to get the money to do this operation before she gets to 6-8 months she is 5 months old and quite small, but has a huge character.
Please help if you can!
This is a picture of Humbug when she first came to NANNA's. Flu', fleas and worms didn't get her so the knee problem won't either!
(Some misguided people believe we did not give Horror his operation due to money, this is a load of bull, he was not old enough to get his operation and he got out and was run over BEFORE he could have it! We never put a price on an animal life here at NANNA's if we have not got the money then we get it, by fund-raising or doing an appeal for it. At least we are honest and upfront and we give the animals a chance).
There were two in the bed and a little one said

MOVE OVER

Lala with Little Tinkey and Poo!
This is what NANNA is all about please support us if you can, they deserve a life before it is taken from them.

Meet Snoopy having a comfortable rest!

They do ge themselves into fun positions!
ALL THESE CATS ARE LIVING WITH NANNA

THEY ALL HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS
NANNA has a special needs account.
We have a special needs account which was open for Rosco when he needed a big opertion, but we only have £130 in it and as trustees we can not use our day to day account on operations that some animals need as we only ever have enough in that account to cover the monthly bills!
If you would like to help some of the more needy animals please send a cheque made payable to NANNA and write special need account on the back of the cheque and send it to:
NANNA 145, Addington Road Irthlingborough Northants NN9 5UP
Thank you, these are very special little ones!
FEEDING TIME AT NANNA's
NANNA has many cats living with them Anne has the goldie oldie's and Petrina has the youngsters.
Here is some of the youngsters on Petrina's stairs where there is feeding servers and water containers which are always full.
It's very much a self service area and if the human family needs to get to the bathroom quick they have t
o try and step over without standing on tails!
From the top:- Flake (Feral), Boring, Crystal (feral) and Tiny Tim, just out of that picture but pictured to the right is Wizard Spudnik and Jorja
(Wizard Spudnik is seriously ill at the moment, see week in the life of NANNA w/e 26th August 2007).

Boring and Foo are two little ones who live at NANNA's because they are so poorly. Little Boring has already lost two sibblings and Foo is fight a middle ear infection.
All Foo wanted was to enjoy his short life
Little Foo has lost is battle for life and those
big eyes are now chasing butterflies in the sky
They are happy and not in pain or suffering and they are living out their lives in comfort with lots of love!

Snoopy is another little one who came to NANNA's with an eye virus, she may not live to a ripe old age and has become dependant on the other cats living at NANNA's because she has limited vision!
